General Information

The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors invites you to subscribe to the CAND Journal (CANDJ). The CANDJ’s mission is to connect the evidence-informed best practices of the naturopathic profession to members, health care practitioners (conventional and integrative), health care stakeholders, government, and the general public. The Journal is published online four times per year in March, June, September, and December, at www.CANDJournal.ca. A current-year online subscription grants access to all embargoed content published within the past 12 months. See the journal’s policy on “Delayed Access” for more information.

Subscription Rates and Options

A subscription to CANDJ is provided as a benefit to members of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). For non-members, an Individual subscription option is available. For companies, organizations and libraries, an Institutional subscription is available for purchase. Individual articles and full issues may also be purchased online through the Journal’s Pay-Per-View option (see: “Using CANDJ Without a Subscription”).

CAND Members

CANDJ is provided as a benefit to members of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).

Important Notes:

  • Subscription year runs from January through December and grants immediate access to all embargoed content published within the past 12 months. Subscription orders received by August 31st will be processed for the current subscription year. Subscription orders received after August 31st will start the following year.
  • All subscriptions must be paid in Canadian funds, and do not include applicable tax.
  • Payment in full must accompany each order.
  • A 5% agency commission is available to subscription agencies. No other discounts apply.
  • Individual subscriptions are assigned to one end user only. Login sharing is not permitted. Please see subscription terms and conditions for further details.
  • Institutional subscriptions are assigned to a single/site location. IP addresses must be provided for access. Please see subscription terms and conditions for further details.

Please allow up to 6 weeks for subscription processing and online access to the Journal.

Cancellations

You may cancel a subscription prior to the start of the subscription period (prior to January 1st) upon written notice to the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. You will receive a refund of the subscription fee, less a processing fee of $25.00. After the start of the subscription period (January 1st), cancellations are not permitted. 

Online Subscription Activation

CAND Members

Members of the CAND receive individual online access to the CANDJ as one of their membership benefits. CAND members can access restricted content by entering their username and password for the CANDJ website when prompted. Important note to members: Your username and password to access content on the CANDJ website is different from your username and password used to access the CAND Members Portal. Refer to the instructions below for resetting your password to the CAND Journal’s website.

If you are a renewing member, and have previously activated your online access, please continue to use the same username and password. If you do not have record of your username and/or password, please visit our “Reset Password” page and enter your email address associated with your CAND membership. You will be taken through the steps to retrieve your username and reset your password. The same login is also used to submit manuscripts and review for the Journal. If you cannot find this email or are having difficulties accessing the journal, please contact CANDJournal@sgpublishing.ca. For more information, see CANDJ Access.

If you are a new or renewing member, who has yet to activate your access, please complete the following steps to retrieve your username and password:

  • Go to the following link: https://www.CANDJournal.ca/index.php/CANDJ/login/lostPassword.
  • Enter your email address associated with your CAND membership and click the “Reset Password” button.
  • A “Password Reset Request Received” will be sent to your email address (please check your spam and junk folder). Click on the URL provided in the email.
  • You will receive a second email (“Password Reset Successful”) that contains your username and a temporary password. Use the details provided in the email to log in at https://www.CANDJournal.ca/index.php/CANDJ/login.
  • Once logged in, you will be prompted to choose a new password. Click ok. Please retain a record of your username and password.
  • Upon successful update of your password, you will be taken to a confirmation page. There is no further action required. From here you have the option to:
  • Access restricted content (articles published in the past 12 months) under the CONTENT menu.
  • Edit or update your profile, by selecting “View Profile” from the user pull down menu on the top right-hand corner of this page. You can also click on "Dashboard" to access the submission and peer review system.

Individuals

Upon receipt of the completed subscription form and successful processing of payment, your online access will be activated. The activation process may take up to 6 weeks upon receipt of your form and payment.

If you are a new individual subscriber, you will receive an email with information about how to access your subscription, including a username and temporary password. Individuals can access restricted content by entering their username and password for the CANDJ website when prompted.

If you are a renewing individual subscriber, you will be notified by email when your renewal has been activated. Please continue to use the same username and password. If you do not have record of your username and/or password, please complete the following steps to retrieve:

  • Go to the following link: https://www.CANDJournal.ca/index.php/CANDJ/login/lostPassword.
  • Enter your email address associated with your subscription and click the “Reset Password” button.

Institutions

Upon receipt of the completed subscription form, including IP ranges, and successful processing of payment, your online access will be activated. The activation process may take up to 6 weeks upon receipt of your form and payment.

For new and renewing institutional subscribers, administrators of the account will receive an email confirming that their online access has been activated or renewed. Online access can only be provided through IP addresses. IP addresses provided in the completed subscription form will be granted access in the system. To update your institutions IP ranges or change your admin contact information, please contact CANDJournal@sgpublishing.ca

Managing your Subscription to CANDJ

CAND Member Subscriptions

Members of the CAND receive access to CANDJ as part of their membership. Members receive a username unique to the CANDJ website. To log in using these credentials visit: https://CANDJournal.ca/index.php/CANDJ/login

If You Forget Your Username and/or Password

If you do not have record of your username and/or password, complete the following steps to retrieve your login details for CANDJ:

How to View and Update Your Profile

To view and update your profile, log in and hover over the person icon in the upper right corner. Choose the “Edit Profile” link.

From here, by choosing the different tabs, you can update your personal details, contact information, change your roles, add a personal image, determine your notification settings, or update your password.

Individual (Non-Member) CANDJ Subscriptions

If you are an individual subscriber, you will be assigned a username and temporary password when you purchase your subscription. You are the only one licensed to use this username and password. You can continue to use the same username and password from year to year.

How to View and Update Your Profile

Institutional CANDJ Subscriptions

The subscription fee allows for unrestricted Internet access via IP address for a single site. Any user connecting from an authorized computer on your institutional network is allowed access to CANDJ.

If you are prompted to enter a username and password, this means the IP address for your computer is not being recognized. If you are having trouble accessing CANDJ from your institution, please contact your Librarian/Account Administrator.

For Librarians/Account Administrators

Institutional access relies on IP addresses being current and up to date. Valid values include an IP address (e.g., 142.58.103.1), IP range (e.g., 142.58.103.1 − 142.58.103.4), IP range with wildcard '*' (e.g., 142.58.*.*), and an IP range with CIDR (e.g., 142.58.100.0/24).

Administrators do not have the ability to update IP addresses for their institution in the system. To update your IP addresses, or for assistance accessing your subscription, please contact CANDJournal@sgpublishing.ca.

Subscription Terms & Conditions

Individual subscriptions are assigned to one end user only. Sharing of your Username and Password is not permitted.

Institutional subscriptions are assigned to a single site/location. IP addresses must be provided for access and can only cover the single site.
